Whitening 2 Weeks??? Give Me A Break!
Have you ever been lured into your local dentist by a whitening special? "Free Whitening With the Purchase of an Exam and Cleaning" Or been talked into any other whitening special??? I know that we have all seen them and many dental offices advertise them or utilize this tactic. I know that we do!
My blog is not to tell you that it doesn't work, because it definitely does! You walk into the office and the assistant takes an impression (mold) of your teeth and then you have trays custom designed to fit your teeth. You are then given a supply of whitening gel and instructions on how to use it. Generally you are given a 2 weeks supply of gel to use everyday in your new trays. Now, it is up to you to follow through and make sure you get the routine down everyday. I have to say ..... Consistency is the key!!!!
Let's say that consistency is the easy part for you. You perform your 2 week whitening like a champ but is it enough???? Are you satisfied with the result that you gained over just 2 short weeks? One of the habits that we try to instill in our office is to get patients back after that 2 weeks to do a shade check of their newly whitened teeth. This way, you can see how far you have come. Some folks respond very well to a 2 week regimen and others my not respond as favorably. Don't fret if you are one of those, just get more gel!
Some folks think that you get your 2 weeks supply of gel and that's it, but the longer your teeth have contact with the whitening gel, the more your teeth are going to respond. Do you have tetracycline stained teeth? We can definitely get results and sometimes it will take months to achieve, but it's worth it.
In our office, we offer 2 kinds of whitening systems. One system is from Ultradent call Opalesence and the other system that we utilize is called the KOR Whitening System. Both are great and achieve fantastic results.
If you happen to be interested in whitening your own teeth, feel free to call our office at 817-812-2082. Our office is very accessible to Southlake, Keller, Colleyville and North Richland Hills - even Fort Worth!
P.S. Regarding teeth whitening, I have always said that it is the least expensive cosmetic treatment that one can do that has the most impact by affecting all of your teeth! Now, lets make an impact!
